She was the daughter of Jacob Isaiah Rorer and Rachel M. Larzalere.
Compiler's Comment* | Although the 1880 census lists Ida's age as 16, I believe it should have been six. Ida does not appear on the 1870 census which she should if she had been born in 1864, making her 16 in 1880. Also, the children are listed on the census by age, with the last two out of order: Harry age 12 followed by Ida, supposedly 16. Considering the error in the spelling of the surname as Rovier instead of Rorer, an error in the age of one of the children would not be surprising.
(with Parents) Census 1880 | 2 June 1880 | She appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of New York, NY, in the household of her parents, Jacob Isaiah Rorer and Rachel M. Larzalere. She was incorrectly listed as 16 years old and attending school.1 |
