Compiler's Comment* | The compiler believes the daughter, Florence R. Hebb, listed in the 1930 census of the Hebb household is actually the orphaned Florence Rorer, daughter of Robert and Elsie Rorer. The daughter in the 1930 census is 14 years old, the right age to be Florence Rorer. Also, Florence and Henry Hebb did not list any children in the 1920 census when Florence would have been about four years old. Florence Rorer was living with her maternal grandparents in the Buckingham 1920 census. It would make sense for the childless Hebb couple to take in the orphaned niece, named for her Aunt Florence Hebb. An indication of the close relationship between Florence Rorer and Florence Rorer Hebb is that the informant for Florence Hebb's death certificate was Florence R. Tomlinson who listed her parents on her marriage certificate as Robert Rorer and Elsie Harding. Thus, the compiler concludes that Florence Rorer, daughter of Robert and Elsie Rorer, born 1916, and Florence R. Hebb on the 1930 census are the same individual. | |
