Birth*circa 1878 Henry William Hebb was born circa 1878 in MD.1
Marriage*29 August 1906 He married Florence Rorer, daughter of Edward Rorer and Alvesta E. Adams, on 29 August 1906 at Church of the Epiphany, Philadelphia, PA.2
Census 1910*15 April 1910 Henry and Florence appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Manhattan Ward 16, New York, NY, at 159 W. 22nd Street, enumerated 15 April 1910. The couple were lodgers. Henry was a dry goods salesman.3
Draft registration*12 September 1918  By 12 September 1918, Henry had moved to Springfield, Clark, OH where he registered for the draft. He was forty years old and the manager of the furniture department of Edward Wen Co. Henry was tall with a medium build, brown hair and brown eyes.4
Census 1920*13 January 1920 On 13 January 1920, Henry and Florence were living at 20 W. Perrin Avenue, Springfield. Henry was a furniture salesman. The couple lived in a rented home.1
Census 1930*2 April 1930 Henry and Florence had moved to Madison Road, Cincinnati, Hamilton, OH by 2 April 1930. Henry owned a furniture store. Their home was rented. The census listed a fourteen year old daughter, Florence Hebb. The 1920 census did not include a four year old daughter.5
Compiler's Comment* The compiler believes the daughter, Florence R. Hebb, listed in the 1930 census of the Hebb household is actually the orphaned Florence Rorer, daughter of Robert and Elsie Rorer. The daughter in the 1930 census is 14 years old, the right age to be Florence Rorer. Also, Florence and Henry Hebb did not list any children in the 1920 census when Florence would have been about four years old. Florence Rorer was living with her maternal grandparents in the Buckingham 1920 census. It would make sense for the childless Hebb couple to take in the orphaned niece, named for her Aunt Florence Hebb. An indication of the close relationship between Florence Rorer and Florence Rorer Hebb is that the informant for Florence Hebb's death certificate was Florence R. Tomlinson who listed her parents on her marriage certificate as Robert Rorer and Elsie Harding. Thus, the compiler concludes that Florence Rorer, daughter of Robert and Elsie Rorer, born 1916, and Florence R. Hebb on the 1930 census are the same individual.
Residence*1931 Henry and Florence lived at Jacksonville, FL, in 1931.6
Death*before 15 May 1947 He died before 15 May 1947 which is when his wife died as a widow.7

Birth*14 August 1889 Elsie R Harding was born on 14 August 1889 in Bucks, PA. The birth date on the death certificate shows the year as 1899. This is clearly an error since she was ten years old on the 1900 census.1,2
She was the daughter of Frank S. Harding and Ida May Ely.1
(with Parents) Census 190025 June 1900 She appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Buckingham Township, Bucks, PA, in the household of her parents, Frank and Ida. She was attending school.2
Marriage*1915 "NEW HOPE-Invitations have been issued for the marriage of Miss Elsie Harding and Robert Rorer of Lahaska."3
Death*2 March 1919 She died on 2 March 1919 at Buckingham Township, Bucks, PA, at age 29. She died of bronco pneumonia.1
Burial*5 March 1919 She was buried on 5 March 1919 at Thompson Memorial Cemetery, New Hope, Bucks, PA.1
Compiler's Comment* Elsie's husband had died six months earlier. With Elsie's death, little Florence was an orphan.

Birth*22 May 1916 Florence M. Rorer was born on 22 May 1916 in Lahaska, Bucks, PA.2
She was the daughter of Robert Pattersen Rorer and Elsie R Harding
(Heir) Probate17 July 1919 The three year old was named heir of her grandfather's estate which was probated on 17 July 1919 at the Register of Wills, Bucks County Courthouse, Doylestown, Bucks, PA. If Florence's deceased father's estate had not paid back the $250 advanced by Edward Rorer to Robert Rorer, then the debt was forgiven and the said debt of his son was bequeathed to Robert's daughter, Edward's granddaughter, Florence Rorer. If the debt had been repaid, then Edward's grand-daughter was to receive $250, with his daughter Florence Hebb to serve as guardian of her niece's estate.3
(Other) Census 192015 January 1920 The three year old orphan appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Buckingham Township, Bucks, PA, in the household of Frank S. Harding and Ida May Ely, her maternal grandparents.4
(Other) Census 19302 April 1930 By 2 April 1930, Florence M. Rorer was living in Cincinnati, Hamilton, OH with her aunt and uncle, Henry William Hebb and Florence Rorer. She was listed on the census rolls as Florence R. Hebb, the daughter of Florence and Henry Hebb.5
Marriage*28 June 1938 She married Maurice Tomlinson, son of Joseph M. Tomlinson and Mabel Bolton, on 28 June 1938 at Manhattan, New York City, NY.2,1
Census 1940*9 April 1940 On 9 April 1940, Florence and Maurice Tomlinson were living at 4001 Roosevelt Boulevard, Philadelphia, PA with their infant daughter Florence H. They were residing with Maurice's parents, Joseph and Mable Tomlinson, and his sister Laura. Maurice had completed four years of high school and was a student. Florence had completed three years of college.6
(Informant) Death15 May 1947 She provided the information for the 1947 death certificate of Florence Rorer Hebb, the aunt who raised her.7
(Informant) Death13 August 1951 She also provided information for the death certificates of her two uncles: first for the 1951 death of Howard Walter Rorer.8,9
(Informant) Death10 January 1962 Second for the 1962 death of Russell Edward Rorer. Florence's address on all three death certificates was Cornwells Heights, Bucks, PA.10
(Heir) Probate16 January 1962 She was named heir of Russell Edward Rorer's estate which was probated on 16 January 1962. After bequests of $1,500, her uncle left her 50% of his residual estate.11
Death*5 February 1999 She died on 5 February 1999 at age 82. She had been residing in Medford, Burlington, NJ.2
Burial*1999 She was buried at Thompson Memorial Cemetery, New Hope, Bucks, PA.12
Compiler's Comment It is easy to conclude that the four children of Edward and Alvesta Rorer remained close and supportive of one another. The orphaned child of one of the siblings, Florence M. Rorer, was raised by another one of the three surviving siblings. And this orphan grew up as part of the lives of both of her surviving uncles as shown by her visit to her Uncle Russell as a teen and her provision of information upon the death of her aunt and uncles.
