Note* Although technically John was Elizabeth's stepson, John was so young when she came to care for him, that he considered Elizabeth to be his mother. Apparently family members never considered her to be anything other than his mother.4

Death*27 December 1960 Elizabeth Rorer, age 74, died on 27 December 1960. She had been a resident of a rest home at 1738 Peerless St., El Cajon, CA when she collapsed onto the bedroom floor on 20 Dec 1960. An autopsy revealed that she had a broken femur and died from a pulmonary embolus and atherosclerotic heart disease.7,1 
Obituary*29 December 1960 Her death was was recorded in an Obituary in the San Diego Union on 29 December 1960. "Mrs. Earl Rorer: Mrs. Elizabeth Rorer, 74, of 1247 Gertrude St., died Tuesday in a hospital. Private services will be at 1:30 p.m. today in Greenwood Mortuary.
